Children love running, climbing, sliding and jumping on things, so why not make your pupils something that satisfies their thirst for adventure as well as encouraging physical activity?

School fields are awesome places for group sport, cartwheels and the freedom to run wild but an adventure playground can be a fun and fresh way for children to let loose - whilst having a great time. Here are a few ideas for building a playground that your students won't be able to get enough of.

    1. Use a digger to clear a space and level out the area you would like the playground to go. Somewhere along the edge of the school field is perfect, as kids will love being able to stand at the top of the structure and look out across at all their friends.

    2. Section off the area with a low wooden fence that can also double up as a bench - perfect for little bodies to sit down on when it's time for lunch or some water.

    3. Fill in the area with something soft like wood chip or sand rather than concrete or solid surfaces, as this will prevent injuries in the inevitable event that children trip over. It's also a fun material for them to kick up and dig into.

    2. Decide what features you would like. Swings? A tunnel? A seesaw? Depending on the age group you are hoping to appeal to, make sure it suits their needs. Very small children? Keep activities lower to the ground, with plenty to grab onto. If the kids are a little older, then challenge them with rope, ladders and monkey bars.

We guarantee that children of all ages will look forward to starting off their school day with a trip down the slide of a swing on the monkey bars. With plenty of options to choose from, you'll be sure to find something suitable for your school.
