With the start of a new season it is the perfect time to embark on a bathroom DIY project or home renovation challenge, but if you're a bit skint for cash, why not settle on a spring clean instead?

It's amazing what a thorough clean can do for a room - some may even be fooled into thinking you've done more!

The kitchen and bathroom are the most commonly used rooms in a home so it makes sense to start your spring clean in these areas.

Empty out all your cupboards and throw out anything that is no longer needed, broken and out-of-date - then get cleaning!

Grab a bucket of soapy water and a couple of cloths and wipe down everything - including drawer insides, appliances, stove tops and counters!

While you're at it, make a point to clean the oven and refrigerator - it's astounding how much grime builds up in these places.

You may not notice it normally, but walls can get extremely grubby after time. Depending on what kind of surface you have, clean the walls with a damp cloth to remove dirt - it will almost seem like a new coat of paint on the walls!

Cleaning windows, inside and out, can make a huge difference to a room - brightening up an area instantly. If you have trouble reaching the outside windows, using ladders or scissor lifts from your local Kennards Store will help you get the job done.
