To facilitate access for a close visual inspection of a rail bridge structure, Brisbane based company DellaCorda Specialist Services hired two track trolleys and six, 50 metre long 20mm steel wire rope cables from Kennards Hire Rail.

Weighing only 47kg and capable of  transporting up to SWL 1250kg the track trolley can be easily lifted on and off track by two men. Available in various gauges the trolley features a fully compliant brake system, TOC Waiver and in date brake test.

"Rail bridges often have an uneven surface or open deck, making it an unacceptable risk to walk along while carrying heavy equipment,” said DellaCorda Specialist Services Operations Manager, Stuart Richardson.

"The trolleys from Kennards Hire Rail are state-of-the-art compared to others available on the market. The completion of works on time – bridge inspection, all elements above and below deck, would not have been possible without them.”

Family owned company DellaCorda Specialist Services has been providing building facade inspections, structural surveys, vertical confined space and hazardous atmospheres works as well as concrete and render remedial works for more than 10 years. The company also undertakes protective coating remedial works, difficult access rigging and difficult access onsite welding.

“Being able to hire the equipment we need on a project by project basis is great for our business as it allows us to have immediate access to resources,” Stuart explained. “It means we don’t have to purchase, store and have the ongoing maintenance and certification costs of equipment we may not use on a regular basis or delivers an ROI,” he added.

Stuart has previously hired equipment for various projects and has always been happy with the level of service DellaCorda Specialist Services receives, saying, “Kennards Hire and Kennards Hire Rail provide us with great service. It makes a big difference as a customer when you’re treated with respect.

“They’re very helpful, nothing is too much trouble and they ensure equipment is on site when it’s needed. In addition to that, the level of knowledge and expertise as well as understanding industry needs, particularly with rail equipment, is invaluable.”

All serialised assets from Kennards Hire Rail are tagged with a QR code, which provides instant access via smart phone app to a host of information such as service history, operator manuals, risk assessment, insurance details and more.
