Kennards Hire Test & Measure has continued to expand its specialist product range with the addition of the AquaTest T10 Ultrasonic Leak Detector.

This leak detector uses ultrasonic wave technology to literally hear the air pressure or fluid leak in water pipe networks outdoors and inside buildings. The highly sensitive probe tip on the test rod is able to locate and electronically amplify the natural vibrations of the object being examined whether underground, behind a wall or through a ceiling.

“The robust construction of the Ultrasonic Leak Detector makes it ideally suited for use by maintenance crews and engineers in the plumbing, council, utilities, water management and commercial, infrastructure and residential construction industries,” explained Leo De Sousa, Branch Manager of Kennards Hire Test & Measure East Brisbane.

“It provides customers with pinpoint accuracy and a non-destructive, non-protruding and no contact to pipeline way of testing. Leaks can be heard as noise through wireless headphones, which deliver outstanding noise quality via high-performance microphone technology.

“The noises are also shown on an automatic illuminated display incorporated in the handle, which negates the need for a separate receiver,” he added.

The display shows current and previous minimum noise levels, as well as the current noise intensity. Minimum noise levels are shown as numeric values while actual noise intensity is displayed as a bar graph. This provides operators with less experience accurate visual support when approaching a leak.

The Ultrasonic Leak Detector from Kennards Hire Test & Measure also features a test rod developed with innovative technology and an ergonomic design to enable extended operation without strain for the user.

Additional features include the ability to individually adjust the filter bands and volume / hearing protection setting in order to provide optimum noise recognition. The Ultrasonic Leak Detector comes with two product variants available – with or without the SDR radio module.

In addition to the new Ultrasonic Leak Detector, Kennards Hire Test & Measure has an extensive range of equipment. This includes hydrostatic test pumps, anchor testers, non-invasive smoke machines and GPS locators used for surveying to an extensive array of hand-held devices.
