Women 'embracing' the DIY revolution
One DIY tool supplier has noted that women are increasingly turning their hands to home repairs - and retailers are taking note.
Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Black & Decker Australia marketing director Mark Smith asserted that DIY television programs - including The Block - are encouraging more women to pick up tools.
Smith added that anyone - woman or man - who is carrying out any kind of DIY bathroom or home repair project should take appropriate measures to stay protected.
"There are plenty of weekend warriors doing it without the right gear," he warned, adding that "appropriate footwear" and long pants should also be worn during any kind of repair work.
If you are thinking about taking advantage of the Christmas break to get some DIY bathroom work done in your property, why not take inspiration from the latest season of The Block?
Popular trends featured in the show include oversized bathtubs, expanded splashbacks and large, modern tiles.
However, it is important not to get in over your head when it comes to bathroom DIY projects - if your ambitious plans include moving your fixtures or any kind of plumbing work, it might be wise to leave this to the professionals.
