Kennards Hire has wrapped up its annual Kennards for Kids charity initiative, with $52,000 raised for the Constable Care Child Safety Foundation to provide road safety education for children and young people in Western Australia.

Constable Care has been a recipient of the Kennards for Kids initiative for the last 15 years, with each year’s donation going towards a different program. Last year the donations went to the Comfort Pack Program for kids in crisis. This year the donation will go directly to the Constable Care Safety School, which had its grand opening in July this year.

“It’s the first safety school of its kind in Western Australia and the technology we are using will make it a world first. We hope to reach about 20 thousand kids a year, providing them with road safety skills that may one day save their life,” said David Gribble, CEO of Constable Care Safety Foundation.

“Having this partnership with Kennards, which has been a long standing one, has been magnificent. Their contribution to the organisation each year is instrumental in allowing us to continue to develop new programs for children and youth in WA, and we couldn’t do it without their help,” he said.

For almost 20 years, the Kennards Hire branch network has helped raise awareness and funds for charitable organisations that support sick and disadvantaged children, and their families, through the Kennards for Kids campaign.

“Kennards Hire has been supporting the Constable Care Foundation for 15 years now and it is a partnership that we are very proud of, but our efforts wouldn’t be possible without our customers and their commitment to Kennards Hire,” said General Manager of Kennards Hire Western Australia Tony Symons.

“Giving our kids the skills they need to make better road safety choices helps them develop life-long skills.  We are glad that we can make a real difference to the lives of others in our communities,” Symons added.

Throughout March and April, $2.00 from every hire was set aside as a direct donation to eight incredible children’s charities, including Variety - the Children's Charity in both South Australia and Victoria, The Constable Care Child Safety Foundation (WA), HeartKids (ACT), Red Kite (NSW), the Children’s Hospital Foundation (QLD), as well as Kidsafe NT and KidsCan in New Zealand - making the Kennards for Kids campaign the company’s largest customer driven charity initiative for this year.

As in previous years, in addition to the funds raised through this campaign, the family-operated company also supports other organisations that provide essential services to children and families in need. This year, Stepping Stone House ($180,000) and KidsExpress ($50,000) will be beneficiaries of the Kennards Hire donations program. The Smith Family also received a $120,000 donation, which was announced at the recent Kennards Hire Branch Managers conference.
