Kennards Hire Rail is taking part in A Taste of Harmony in 2016, which is an initiative celebrating cultural diversity within the workplace. On Wednesday, March 23rd between 7:30am and 10:30am Kennards Hire Rail invites their customers to drop into their local Kennards Hire Rail branch for brekky, share their own cultural stories and celebrate the diversity that exists within the rail community.
A Taste of Harmony aims to give employees an opportunity to share their culture with colleagues, through the universal language of food. This year, Kennards Hire Rail is joining in with the Australasian Railway Association by participating in A Taste of Harmony.
Alex Eisermann, Manager of Kennards Hire Rail explained why he chose to register the business for A Taste of Harmony in 2016.
“Kennards Hire’s core value is one family,” Alex said.
“Obviously that value stems from the Kennard family, but as the business grows, so too does the ‘family’. The Kennards Hire family includes all of our people; from our CEO to our in-branch staff, delivery drivers, maintenance crew and everyone in between.”
“We also consider ourselves to be part of a broader, and very important group; the Australian rail family. We are an industry that is best served by collaboration and openness, and A Taste of Harmony is Kennards Hire Rail’s way of inviting our customers and any other members of the industry into our home, to share a meal and spin a few yarns that celebrate who we all are, and where we have come from.” Alex concluded.
The Kennards Hire Family story began in 1948, when Walter Kennard hired out his first piece of machinery. Nearly 70 years on, family values are still at the centre of everything Kennards Hire does, both internally and as a member of the Rail industry and many others.
Kennards Hire Rail’s A Taste of Harmony brekky is part of celebrations that will take place across the entire week. Members of the Rail industry are encouraged to drop in at any Kennards Hire Rail branch, enjoy breakfast, and share some history.
