Getting your pool ready for summer

As the weather warms up and you start to take advantage of the spring weather to make home repairs, you may want to put swimming pool care at the top of your list so it's ready by the time summer comes.

Proper pool care means more than just skimming the surface with a net and making sure the chemicals are right. If you can, it's a good idea to drain your pool once a year to put fresh water in and assess any cracks or other damage that may be forming in the concrete.

Once the pool is dry, it's also a good idea to clean any areas of the concrete that may have built up algae stains over time, or any other marks that may have come from cleaning equipment or pool toys.
