Give your garden the tidy up it deserves

The garden is a source of pride for many Australians, and it's the reason our country has so many magazines devoted to the very top tier examples.

Of course, not all of us maintain these spaces as we should, and that's where some weekend garden DIY could be in order. Let's take a look at a few of the ways to give your garden the tidy up that could make all the difference.

    Starting out easy

The best way to get started with garden DIY is by mowing the lawns. While it's an easy job for those with small properties, rural home owners will understand the difficulties in tackling acres of land. We've got a wide range of mowing tools, including basic ride-on mowers right through to large attachments for tractors.

Using a dedicated mower means you'll have no trouble cutting grass down to a reasonable height.

Moving up the ladder - or cherry picker

Next up, it's time to pull out the ladders. Trimming trees and high hedges can really help to tidy up an unruly looking property. You'll need the right safety gear before getting started, however. A ladder is suitable for smaller trees and hedges, but a cherry picker could be the best option for the highest trees on a property.

We've got cherry pickers of all sizes, most of which can be easily transported via towbar to and from a property.

Getting serious: putting in a new pathway

Once you've clipped the trees and mown the grass, it's time to think a little a bigger. But what could be a bigger job than pruning back high trees?

The answer lies with a DIY project that could take a little more time than a weekend to complete: putting in a new pathway. To get started, consider concrete cutting equipment. With some hard work, you can construct a new pathway that completes a garden.

If you've decided to go ahead with large-scale DIY work, it may also pay to think about some other weekend DIY projects.
