Installing a water feature - made easy!

The external part of a property can often be overlooked when it comes to home renovations.

Whether it is that people just simply forget or they just underestimate its importance, a DIY garden job can be an effective way of giving your house a fresh look - and it doesn't have to be an expensive exercise!

If landscaping isn't quite your thing and you would rather leave the hard manual labour to a professional, installing a water feature might be a project which appeals to you.

If you do need to do some minor clearing in the backyard - such as removing unwanted shrubs and dirt that is in the way - using a mini loader or excavator, available from your local Kennards Hire, will do the trick.

Depending on where your sump is to be located, you may also need to excavate the ground to a certain depth - making sure that you allow enough room.

Once you have installed your sump and pump, and filled in the hole with paving sand or dirt, you can get start installing the water feature.

A pot or an urn is a cheap and easy choice for your feature and makes connecting the pipes to the pump easy as you can just cut a hole in the base.
