Kennards Hire Lights up Gold Coast

The Fire and Fuel Festival is a fan highlight in the week leading up to the V8 Supercar Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600.

For the spectacular one night event, which features fireworks, monster machines, including a 52 tonne Centurion Army Tank and freestyle motocross stunt demons Kennards Hire supplied a range of equipment to award winning event company Sassaffair Events. “Organising and managing an event of this size involves co-ordinating numerous deliveries of various equipment into a very small and often congested area,” said Tanya Liddell, Owner, Sassaffair Events.

“The assistance we received from Kennards Hire was fantastic. They were on site precisely on time, knew what had to be done and did it without needing to be asked or supervised.“

Kennards Hire supplied two, 20kVA generators and a distribution board. The generators were used to power 1000w speakers, flame throws, angle grinders, which also required 10amp power access, a sound mixer (for 2 wireless mics), a sound deck, a DJ mixing deck and fluro lights.

Additionally, Kennards Hire also provided four trailer mounted light towers. Two shone in the air for the crowd to watch  the tricks of the motor cross performers and two were used to illuminate the landing ramp for the riders.

“Most hire companies just deliver the equipment and leave,” said Tanya. “Kennards Hire aren’t like that at all. The Kennards Hire team set-up the generators and lighting towers exactly where they were needed. A technician spent time with an event staff member and demonstrated the equipment and answered questions.”

Based in Brisbane, Sassaffair Events was named the 2014 Queensland Wedding and Event Planner of the Year by WEOA and specialise in dinners and banquets, gala balls, cocktail functions, conferences, launch events, music festivals and sporting carnivals. The company has delivered events for some of Australia’s leading corporate companies including Xstrata Coal and Economic Development Queensland (EDQ). 

Tanya said the customer service she received was outstanding. “The Kennards Hire team took the time to talk through the equipment and showed me the QR tag, which provides instant access to the user manual via a smartphone,” she said.

“It’s a whole level of service you don’t get with many companies. Sassaffair will definitely be using Kennards Hire for future events,” Tanya added
