Highlight the works of your garden landscaping plans by illuminating your backyard with your very own creative garden lights!

Outdoor lighting can greatly enhance the look of your home, and makes a fantastic setting for entertaining during summer.

Instead of opting for the staple solar lights posted around your lawn, put your garden DIY skills to use and get innovative with your lighting!

    Walkway light posts

If your deck or patio is quite a long, dark walk from the house, consider making some walkway light posts!

This simply involves selecting a number of wooden posts (the appropriate amount to run the length of your walkway), hollowing a hole into the side of the post for the solar light and mounting the light inside.

Dig holes for your posts along the walkway and have an electrician complete the wiring and voila - the lighted path awaits you!

    Perspective lighting

Have a few trees or plants you want to highlight in your garden? Then try some perspective lighting!

A creative way of implementing this look in your garden is to purchase wooden posts and screw a small metal hook at the top part of the post.

You can then hang a small lantern off the hook, placing it around the trees and plants of your choice.
