Minister for Business Peter Styles opens new Coolalinga Branch in NT

Kennards Hire has continued its expansion with the establishment and opening of a new branch at Coolalinga, an outer area of Darwin. The branch was officially opened by the Minister for Business Peter Styles and takes the number of branches in the Top End to four and number of employees to over 40.

“In addition to serving the needs of local contractors and trades people, the new branch will also service the expansive mining and commercial construction and civil infrastructure development projects within the region,” said Tony Symons, Kennards Hire General Manager WA & NT Operations.

This has led to the Kennards Hire Coolalinga branch having larger equipment available such as five to eight tonne excavators, 13 tonne and multi-tyre rollers, five and 10 tonne tippers, water carts for road works, tractors and slashers and portable toilets. There is also more specialist equipment available including pumps and mine speced generators to meet diverse customer needs.

easily accessible by large transport trucks, which pick up and deliver equipment to remote sites. “This means customers coming from Humpty Doo or Darwin River areas can save time as they don’t have to travel into Darwin to pick up equipment,” said Tony.

Kennards Hire equipment is sent to customers as far afield as Kununurra in Western Australia, to Groote Eylandt by barge, far North Queensland and down into South Australia. and New Zealand and remains proudly family-owned.

“The team members in the new branch are from the local area,” said Tony. “Having staff with close ties to the community through family, schools and being members of local sporting teams is very important. This means our staff know our customers and our customers know our staff personally.

“As well as having particular areas of expertise, Kennards Hire staff also have invaluable knowledge of the area and surrounding district. This gives them a greater understanding of customer needs.”

Kennards Hire Coolalinga is open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
