New trailer speeds up delivery of road barriers

A specially designed and built trailer with a 6m tray is helping Kennards Hire Traffic to deliver road barriers to sites in Sydney quickly and efficiently.

The trailer is fitted with a Hiab crane that can lift 250kg at 5m, which makes loading and unloading easy and is also much better from an OH & S perspective.

It is towed by a ute, giving it an advantage over a truck in heavy traffic.

The trailer and ute, combined, can carry more than 40m of barriers in one load, meaning most work sites can be serviced fully in one trip.

Kennards Hire Traffic barriers are rated for speed zones up to 50km/h. Constructed of highly durable polyethylene, they are filled on site with water to absorb collision energy.

Barriers are easily joined by a steel pin and a steel cable. The steel cable, placed along a recess in the top, connects the system and resists the tensile forces generated during high severity impacts.
