When you're poolside at one of the most luxurious resorts on the Gold Coast, you would expect a sun lounge, umbrella and cool drink in hand. Unfortunately for the team from Treescape Australia, it was shovels and the monumental task of removing, then replacing, 190 tonne of soil and replanting palm trees in an expansive landscaped planter box, which required re-waterproofing.

To transport the soil from the planter box to a tipper truck, Kennards Hire Lift & Shift provided a number of conveyor belts. Adding to the complexity of the project, the conveyor belts had to be assembled to go over a crystal clear swimming pool.

"We hired just about every conveyor belt Kennards Hire Lift & Shift had in Queensland," said Daniel Oaten, Senior Arborist with Treescape Australia. "In total it was about 120 metres from the planter box to the truck.

"The conveyors went over a sea wall, over the pool, under a walkway, alongside another sea wall then into the truck, so it wasn't just a straight set-up. They're simple to operate and light enough for two men to easily reposition as needed," he added.
