Queensland Children's Hospital Foundation to partner with Kennards for Kids

All through March and April, $2 from every hire in-store or online with Kennards Hire will go toward a children's charity in Australia and New Zealand. For Queensland in 2017, that organisation is the Children's Hospital Foundation.

Kennards for Kids is an annual campaign that aims to help children in need with funding for charities that actively and directly impact their lives in positive ways. The vision of the Queensland Children's Hospital Foundation is as follows:

"For every sick child to have the best possible health care, with access to world-class research and clinical treatment in a healing environment."

That aligns perfectly with what Kennards for Kids is all about. In 2016, Kennards Hire raised a record $367,000 through Kennards for Kids for their partner charities. This year, the team is working hard to beat that record.

What will the Children's Hospital Foundation use the donation for?

The Kennards for Kids campaign exists to help at-risk or disadvantaged children and their families to live better, fuller lives. That's why we make sure all of our donations go toward really helping the kids. This year, the Children's Hospital Foundation is looking to secure an expensive and important piece of medical equipment.

"This year we are aiming to put the funds raised towards a new cortical stimulator, to be used in the work-up of epilepsy patients prior to neurosurgery - this allows for a better reading of the electrical activity from the cerebral cortex," said Children's Hospital Foundation spokesperson Melissa Hagedorn.

"Having access to better and more advanced equipment such as this will enhance our care and treatment capabilities. We are beyond thrilled to again be partnering with Kennards Hire for this wonderful initiative."

Kennards Hire has partnered with the Children's Hospital Foundation for some time now - most recently in 2016, when our teams helped to build the Nundah Cottages over a 10-day period for the Channel Nine Telethon.
