One of the most popular requests when it comes to bathroom design is the wish for more space. However, whether you have additional space is another thing - and if you don't, there are a handful of tricks which you can use to create the illusion of it!

A practical and effective way of enhancing the open feel of your bathroom is through tiling. Once you remove your existing flooring, you can start experimenting with new styles and what works in your bathroom.

As a general rule, darker colours will make a room appear smaller; therefore it is a good idea to stick to lighter shades. If the vanity and ceiling are also light, using a fair hue will enhance the feeling of space further as the one shade will create a continuity effect.

However, if you have your heart set on a darker tone, why not experiment with feature tiling, or within a pattern? This way you can still use the colours you desire without comprising on the other important details.
