Jamberoo Recreational Park, a long standing customer of Kennards Hire Concrete Care, recently required the removal of old pool paint to restore the pool surface to its former status.
After careful consultation between the Jamberoo team and Kennards Hire Concrete Care experts, a decision was made to put the new Wet Sand blaster from Kennards Hire to use.
Wet Sandblaster
The Wet Sand Blaster suppresses up to 97% of airborne particles, which greatly improves safety during a job such as this. This was a significant factor in the completion of the job.
The Wet Sand Blaster is effective with any abrasive heavier than water, and when it hits its straps, can result in massive time reductions. A blast nozzle size of 25mm offers a powerful spray, which was more than capable of removing the old paint from the pool’s surface. For this particular job, the Kennards Hire Concrete Care crew suggested a garnet media 80 mesh should be used.
Grant Tremlett, National Product Manager for Kennards Hire Concrete Care, knew that the Wet Sand Blaster was the machine for the job the moment he was briefed.
“The Wet Sand Blaster is a highly efficient machine,” Grant explained. “This particular job was completed in approximately 1/3 of the time that it has taken in the past. The added bonus was that it significantly reduced operator fatigue that in the past had been done by handheld grinders. This has saved Jamberoo Recreational Park time and money as a result.”
The money saved thanks to the efficient completion of the job will be put towards removing paint from other pools in the facility, which means there is no rest for the Wet Sand Blaster!
