If you find yourself three weeks into January without having set up furniture or other gifts you received for Christmas, it may be time to get some expert help! And no, we don't mean getting someone else to do it for you!

When it comes to assembling complicated items like a new writing desk or a wardrobe organiser, it can be hard to know exactly what you need to get the job done. Head into your local Kennards Hire centre and the friendly staff will be able to show you which tools, accessories and fittings you'll need.

    Better storage solutions

If your New Year's resolution was to downsize your closet, improving your storage will go a long way towards helping you declutter and free up space.

There are many flat pack wire shelving units that provide ample configuration options, but many people prefer the classic styling of wooden shelves.

A combination of both of these is a desirable blend of new organisation techniques and long-lasting durability. If this is the route you choose to take, you'll not only need very accurate measurements, but a very accurate circular saw to get your shelving just right.

An appropriate fastening system for rails and wire shelves is essential as well. A cordless electric screwdriver will probably be your best bet, but make sure you have the right bits for your chosen fastener.

If you're unsure of the best tool for your particular project or would like to learn more about how to use the equipment you need, a Kennards Hire team member will be happy to show you the ropes.

They'll be able to recommend the right drill for the job, as well as give advice on fasteners and assembly directions. If there's anything you're unsure of, bring your set of instructions or miscellaneous bits and pieces with you and we'll help you to figure out how it all goes together.
