Every hire in-store or online through March and April will raise money for a partner charity around Australia and New Zealand through the Kennards for Kids campaign. In 2017, Kennards Hire has partnered with KidsCan New Zealand with $2 from every hire in the Land of the Long White Cloud to be donated to KidsCan to help every New Zealand child, regardless of their social economic background, to have an equal chance at education.

It's about making sure every kid gets an equal opportunity to learn at school, and to leave with a rounded education.

KidsCan NZ helps kids to get the education they deserve, no matter where they're from or how much money they can pay for their schooling. It's about making sure every kid gets an equal opportunity to learn at school, and to leave with a rounded education.

"We are thrilled to be chosen as the charity partner for Kennards for Kids in New Zealand," said KidsCan CEO, Julie Chapman.

"This is the third year we have been lucky enough to be a part of this campaign and we are grateful for the generous support we receive from Kennards Hire and their customers, helping us to provide the basics for Kiwi kids who would otherwise go without.

"The funds raised from the Kennards for Kids campaign will help KidsCan provide tangible items like food, raincoats, shoes and socks and basic health products to even more Kiwi kids going without the basics they need. We do this so they can get to school in a position to make the most of their education and have the best chance at a bright future."

    Why choose KidsCan NZ?

Kennards Hire truly believes in what the team at KidsCan NZ do for the wider community around the country. They help give our most vulnerable young people the best start in life, ensuring everyone can get the same level of education.

There are almost 300,000 Kiwi kids that live in some hardship, and more than 25 per cent of New Zealand youth live without the basics. That's a lot of kids in need, and they are less likely to leave school with university entrance qualifications, meaning they have significantly less chance of furthering their education.

KidsCan NZ helps over 143,000 kids through various programs, and these kids make the most of it. As many as 86 per cent of the schools that KidsCan works with report an increase in student attendance. Kids can't learn properly if they're not in the right environment, so being at school is vital.

"We believe supporting a local children-based charity, such as KidsCan, is very important for our customers and staff."

"After three years of partnership between KidsCan and Kennards Hire we have seen many children fed, taught, cared for and clothed as a direct result of our partnership, which is truly heart-warming - from both a personal and professional viewpoint," said General Manager of Kennards Hire New Zealand Tom Kimber.

"We believe supporting a local children-based charity, such as KidsCan, is very important for our customers and staff and we are excited to be partnering with them again to make a real difference to children's lives."

The Kennards for Kids campaign really is hire for a higher purpose, and you can get behind the initiative simply by hiring a piece of equipment in-store or online. Need to get some gardening done, or get started on that niggling gardening job? We've got just the tool for you.
