Kennards Hire has wrapped up its annual Kennards for Kids charity initiative, with $56,000 raised for the Children’s Hospital Foundation to support families in Queensland, and more than $550,000 earmarked for a host of other charitable organisations.

The Queensland donation will directly help the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital establish a parent support group for seriously ill children with significant brain or spinal injuries. The Parent Education and Support Group program will improve parent education and provide additional emotional support to families in the early phase of their child’s rehabilitation, when they need it most.

“Having worked with the Foundation for many years, it’s such a rewarding experience to see how the Kennards for Kids campaign helps to support their life changing work, allowing these children to receive better treatments and be able to go home with their families.”

“I’m very impressed with the dedication of our team members here in Queensland, and they have gone above and beyond to help the Children’s Hospital Foundation at every opportunity,” said Jamie.

For almost 20 years, the Kennards Hire branch network has helped raise awareness and funds for charitable organisations that support sick and disadvantaged children, and their families, through the Kennards for Kids campaign.

Throughout March and April, $2.00 from every hire was set aside as a direct donation to eight incredible children’s charities, including Variety - the Children's Charity in both South Australia and Victoria, The Constable Care Child Safety Foundation (WA), HeartKids (ACT), Red Kite (NSW), the Children’s Hospital Foundation (QLD), as well as Kidsafe NT and KidsCan in New Zealand - making the Kennards for Kids campaign the company’s largest customer driven charity initiative for this year.

As in previous years, in addition to the funds raised through this campaign, the family-operated company also supports other organisations that provide essential services to children and families in need. This year, Stepping Stone House ($180,000) and KidsExpress ($50,000) will be beneficiaries of the Kennards Hire donations program. The Smith Family also received a $120,000 donation, which was announced at the recent Kennards Hire Branch Managers conference.
