If you look outside and notice the odd patch of mould around your property, it's probably time to get out and blast it to smithereens.

Mould and moss can be slippery, even when the rest of your ground is dry, which makes it unsafe. That's something you certainly don't want anywhere on your grounds, and Kennards Hire has a range of options to help you get rid of it all.

If your property is prone to standing water, you'll have to keep on top of it at least a couple of times a year. That might not require you to buy the equipment, however, as it'll really just be a spot of light garden DIY. Hiring, on the other hand, could be much more cost-efficient.

Why do you see mould everywhere?

While Australia is seen as a hot country all year round to the outside observer, it's actually very tropical. Just take a look at Queensland and the more southern cities - the rainy seasons last for months on end, and leave behind a lot of puddles.

What could a puddle do to your property in the long run? What could a puddle do to your property in the long run?

The US Environmental Protection Agency recommends being aware of where standing water can occur around your home. That's because when a large puddle lies undisturbed for hours on end, it acts as a breeding ground for microorganisms that eventually become spots of mould. Even after the damaging wet months have passed, the presence of mould can still cause damage to your property, and so keeping it at bay is vitally important.

One of the fastest ways to remove surface mould is with a 2,000 psi petrol-powered cold pressure cleaner. The high pressure of the water coming out of the wand is the perfect weapon to lay waste to all of the mould you can see. However, you should only do this on a warm day with the sun beating down so that the ground can dry properly after spraying.

What about for those really tough spots?

Removing mould from your property won't just make it look better.

There might be small spaces, like corners of garden boxes, around your home that a pressure cleaner won't work on. For those little nooks and crannies, use a knapsack sprayer and simply fill it with the right solution to destroy the roots of the mould, point, and shoot.

Removing mould from your property won't just make it look better, but it will also keep your ground from being slippery and dangerous.

To keep your home looking great and feeling safe, head into Kennards Hire today and spray away the mould.
