Stoked to Support the ABB Grand Final

The Australian Boardriders Battle (ABB) Grand Final was held on 7 & 8 March at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, bringing together the best boardrider clubs from across the country for the biggest club surfing event in Australia.

For the second year running, Kennards Hire proudly supported the event as the Official Major Equipment Hire Partner, providing essential equipment to help bring the competition to life.

Our teams put in a huge effort and worked closely with Surfing Australia to supply a wide range of equipment needed to support event infrastructure, operations and broadcast requirements. From bump-in to pack-down, the event relied on coordinated support from multiple branches and teams to ensure everything was delivered, installed and operating safely throughout the competition.

For visitors on the day who got to experience some world-class surfing, we provided a hydration station to keep water bottles topped up and brought the fun with our giant inflatable cement mixer and merch giveaway. Broadcast viewers saw ‘KEN OATH’ moments throughout the competition and live crosses from our activation space and beach buggy.

The partnership between Kennards Hire and Surfing Australia is first and foremost about supporting community, family and grassroots sport, so it was wonderful to see people rocking Trade Easy t-shirts on the beach over the weekend and throughout the following week.

Delivering an event of this scale requires a significant amount of planning, logistics and teamwork, and your effort in coordinating equipment, deliveries, logistics and on-site support helped ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully.
