Last month, Kennards Hire welcomed the team from Rangiora Hire on New Zealand’s South Island.
Bringing the company’s branch network to 28, the latest acquisition builds on a strong existing presence in New Zealand, with the 3,500sqm site set to serve the growing Canterbury region.
Rangiora’s Branch Manager Phillipa Croft, said, “Kennards Hire is excited to be joining the local Rangiora community. As one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand, it feels fitting for Kennards Hire to set up shop here. For me personally, being a local, I am very proud to be leading the team as Branch Manager as one of a couple of female branch managers in New Zealand.”
Having been with Kennards Hire for over five years, Pip is keen to be a role-model for other women looking to join the hire industry. She is also excited to build on the hire business legacy grown in Rangiora by previous owners, husband-and-wife team, Wayne and Sandy Hood who are now happily retiring.
Along with Pip, Rhys van Toor, Assistant Branch Manager, Ricki Harper, Maintenance Controller, and Cohen Le Cheminant, Service Person Driver make up the Rangiora Branch team.
“We’re really pleased to have some of the original team members stay on with us. They bring with them local knowledge and understanding of the community. At Kennards Hire, we are very much connected to our family and community values, and to be able to share these values right away is a great start here for us in Rangiora,” shared Pip.
Kennards Hire is eager to build on local community relationships, with ambitions to become a prominent supporting member of the surrounding neighborhoods. Through their ‘School Buddy’ programme with national organisation, KidsCan, the branch will soon partner with local low-decile schools, whereby the branch will help with working bees and school beautification projects through volunteering and free equipment hire.
“As a family-owned business, it’s really important to us that we are able to give back and support the wonderful communities where our people live and work," Pip said.
The Rangiora branch carries a wide variety of general equipment so customers can pick up all the gear they need for their trade, DIY or farming projects.
The branch opening has been supporting with marketing and sales activities including digital media, outdoor and radio advertising, a Business Development Blitz pack, a text back promo with The Rock. The branch will host a BBQ breakfast on Wednesday, 10 August, with live crosses from the Rock Roadies, free merchandise and a $100 cash giveaway plus a prize from Kennards Hire, supplier Hilti.
The branch is located at 21 Southbrook Road, Rangiora.
