Kennards Hire Expands Into Regional Victoria With Bendigo Hire Acquisition

Australian family-owned and operated equipment hire company, Kennards Hire, is expanding its footprint in Victoria with its first regional acquisition in the state. 

The acquisition of Bendigo Hire marks the company’s first foray into regional Victoria taking the state’s network footprint to 32 branches with more new sites planned over the coming months.

With Bendigo and its surrounding regions seeing strong and consistent growth, Kennards Hire is primed to support it with increased product range and ability for customers to access its entire branch network to ensure that it can fully service the DIYers, tradies, and any local or state construction projects, no matter the job.

The acquisition presents an exciting opportunity for customers, as Kennards Hire will enhance Bendigo Hire’s existing equipment offering with a range of new products. This will include a range of test and measure equipment, an 8-tonne excavator, concrete grinders and planers, concrete vacuums for silica dust, 2-tonne and 5-tonne tipper trucks, a range of traffic management equipment, 4” and 6” pumps, large tracked skid steer loader, and a range of lift and shift equipment.

Bendigo Hire has supplied equipment in and around the region for more than 50 years and former Bendigo Hire owner Paul Rockes said the acquisition was a “no-brainer” as he was nearing the age of retirement.

“There's hardly a job that's been done in Bendigo, and I don't think there's been a backyard, or a garden landscaped in Bendigo, without equipment from Bendigo Hire," said Mr Rockes.

“As a family-owned and operated business, we know Kennards Hire will do a good job of continuing our legacy by helping to make our customers’ jobs easy.”

Kennards Hire Victorian general manager Lance Hawes said the acquisition was a special one for the business, marking its first true regional branch in Victoria.

Selected pieces of Bendigo Hire equipment and memorabilia will be sent to Sydney and housed in the Kennards Hire Museum.
