
Kennards Hire has acquired Solution Plant Hire, a specialist provider of earthmoving and compaction equipment for hire, significantly expanding its fleet capability and strengthening its position in the civil construction and infrastructure sector.
The acquisition increases Kennards Hire’s capacity to support large-scale projects, requiring specialist compaction and earthmoving solutions, enhancing its ability to service Tier 1 contractors and major infrastructure works across Australia.
With infrastructure investment increasing across Australia, the expanded fleet will meet this demand - providing enhanced capabilities to deliver dependable access to compliant, well-maintained equipment across multi-site and long-duration projects, where consistent equipment availability is critical.

Solution Plant Hire sites in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney are being brought into the Kennards Hire distribution centre network, with a new site opening in Tomago, New South Wales to service the region’s growing infrastructure needs.
With this acquisition being Kennards Hire’s largest and most significant since 2012, the Australian-owned and operated business continues to invest in fleet expansion, people and capability to meet the evolving needs of the civil and infrastructure sectors.
The move will also see the launch of a new business unit for Kennards Hire and a consequent shift in personnel, with Craig McMahon previously Area Manager for NSW’s Central West, being appointed as the new General Manager, Earthmoving & Compaction which will sit under the company’s Specialist Solutions offering. With a number of SPH employees joining the Kennards Hire team bringing valuable equipment and solutions expertise.
