Adam leads the Site Services team for New South Wales, supplying and coordinating portable buildings, amenities and site infrastructure for projects across the Sydney metro area and regional New South Wales. He manages people, buildings and delivery so customers get the right buildings and services at challenging urban sites and in tight timeframes.
Adam joined Kennards Hire nine years ago at the Kellyville branch, starting in the wash bay and progressing to Assistant Manager. He then became Branch Manager at Windsor, a role he held for six years. In January 2024 he moved into his current position as Specialist Manager for Site Services NSW. He now leads a team of 10 to service statewide demand.
Before joining Kennards Hire, Adam worked for a decade with CSR Gyprock R&D where he gained invaluable construction industry knowledge.
Each day brings a new set of challenges for Adam. He moves seamlessly between the logistical hurdles of Sydney’s busy city centre and the specialised requirements of off-grid work in out-of-town locations. This can include:
Adam uses practical planning and proven building solutions, while also looking for ways to improve site services offerings through innovative designs and technology.
“Our new mobile crib with everything inside for a standalone site base is made in Australia and customers immediately like its design and features,” Adam says. “It’s great for sites that change location like power transmission line projects or solar farms.”
Adam is particularly excited to offer Kennards Hire’s new stackable site buildings to the market.
“These stackable buildings can integrate with ramps, staircases, decks and other site infrastructure to make a high-functioning base.”
Adam enjoys the diversity of projects, “from a Northern Beaches home building site to buildings tucked under the Harbour Bridge or 20 buildings delivered to the Central West.”
He enjoys talking with customers about what they are trying to achieve and credits the Kennards Hire culture and network with his ability to deliver top-tier service. Adam values immediate access to a network of branch experts who are always ready to share equipment and insights to create tailored solutions for every customer.
Adam recently moved to a 10-acre property, which means plenty of mowing, fixing pumps and home projects. He has two children under 11 and two kelpies that keep him busy.
Most wouldn’t be surprised to learn he is an industrial tool maker by trade, but lesser known is his year spent in Thailand where he learnt conversational Thai and developed a love for cooking Thai food.
Adam loves encouraging his team. “Be hands-on and give it a crack. If it can be done better, we learn and improve the next time.”
The quote that inspires him most is: “The most effective way to do something is to do it.”
