b'CHAPTER 07BUILDING THE CULTURE | 81Keneco actively searches for new properties for lease or sale tosupport Kennards Hires growth.Cam Kennard, now CEO of Keneco Property, initially joined the business to work on standardising branches, signage and building design. Now, Keneco Property employs around fourteen people who focus on property acquisitions, leases, construction work, compliance and finance components. Although Keneco operates as a separate business, its core focus is closely tied to Kennards Hire. When it comes to new branches, Keneco prioritises finding the right location with good access, exposure and size to ensure proper customer flow and equipment servicing. While owning properties is preferred, it has become increasingly challenging due to rising property prices. Keneco must balance the desire for ownership with the financial implications of rent and property values. Despite this, Keneco remains dedicated to property ownership and continuesto strategically invest in sites, ensuring Kennards Hire maintainsa strong presence and control over its destiny in the market.Above (Left to right) Michael Gander, Allen Besseling, George Liagas and Adam Gunn, at the Kennards Skill Olympics, 2000.Right Greg Sullivan (left) and Cam Kennard, 2008.'
